Description
As part of the effort to decarbonize aviation, the production of fuels that serve as alternatives to fossil-based products is viewed as a key solution. Two main categories of fuel are emerging (with the possibility of hybrid approaches): on the one hand, e-fuels, produced from low-carbon electricity and CO₂ captured from the atmosphere; on the other, biofuels, derived from the processing of biomass. In this context, the primary scientific challenge lies in developing tools to plan the energy infrastructure required to produce these alternative fuels, as well as to assess the environmental and economic impacts associated with their use.

SC4EU, a collaborative Innovation Action aims at strengthening European digital sovereignty by mitigation of the chip shortage through reduction of bullwhip effect in the semiconductor industry and supply chains containing semiconductors. This will be reached via a “truer”-demand signal gained from an anonymous MPC (Multi Party Computation) survey on coarse granularity which will be broken down via AI methods to fine granularities following the semantic web based digital reference structure.

Description
To make manufacturing processes smarter, the project aims to develop a dynamic and predictive control system for processes and equipment. The goal is to manage scheduling, planning, and control proactively, leveraging learning algorithms capable of processing large amounts of technical and production data that accumulate continuously. This way, production plans will be optimized dynamically, providing a solid foundation for more accurate predictive control of processes and equipment. Prognostic decisions will not be limited to statistical forecasting but will also be logically interpreted to understand underlying causes and continuously improve scheduling and dynamic control. The methods developed in this project will be validated with local industrial partners to ensure their practical relevance and effectiveness.

Description
Shipowners operate networks of liner services to move containers between ports around the world. These networks are frequently reviewed for operational or commercial reasons. These adjustments can be related to the structure and operation of one or more liner services (e.g., adding or deleting stopovers, creating a new service) or to the management of container flows (e.g., changing the main route for a given flow, redistributing volumes between routes for an origin-destination). In this project, we will develop decision support tools for optimal planning of container routes and liner shipping services, taking into account realistic business constraints and real liner shipping networks.

The SC³ Project relies on enabling a collaboration of industrial as well as academic stakeholders to ensure interoperability among semiconductor companies, and further industrial domains. SC³ implements an industrial reference platform as a de-facto standard (frequently used). This framework acts as a key enabler for realising an agile development – validation – refinement loop of a top-level ontology i.e. Digital Reference (DR). DR comprises a combination of different ontologies of semiconductor supply chains and supply chains containing semiconductors. SC³ activities will have a strong focus on sustainability and uptake of the project results, this includes on the one hand to keep the established community alive and on the other hand that the semiconductor data documentation, (i.e. the Generic Semiconductor Data Model) will be further developed and maintained even after the project duration. SC³ will incrementally add domain knowledge to the DR

The project AGIRE addresses the human resources management in warehouses which supply either sale points (B2B) or final consumers (B2C). Such warehouses are under pressure due to the no inventory policy at the sale points and to the constant growth of e-commerce sales. In terms of logistics, this translates into an increasing number of parcels to prepare and to ship to satisfy an order, which is known typically a few hours in advance.

Description
We introduce data mining techniques into semiconductor manufacturing fabs like STMicroelectonics in Rousset. The objective is to improve the yield management by discovering correlations between measured parameters within the manufacturing chain. We focus on post hoc APC (Advanced Process Control) approaches, which compare the end result of the whole process with the desired specifications, analyzing the root causes of low yield for adjusting the process parameters to ensure future quality. We developed a complete KDD model: we simplified the measured data by adapted preprocessing and transformation tools and extracted two kinds of Decisional Correlation Rules which enhance conventional association rules. We currently parallelize these approaches in order to secure the work and explore other ways to improve it.
