Research and Academic Centres
Mines Saint-Étienne has five training and research centers, each dedicated to strategic themes for industry and society.
Centre for Biomedical and Healthcare Engineering
Applied research in health, biomechanics, and biomedical technologies. The CIS develops innovative solutions for personalized medicine, medical imaging, and connected health devices.
Centre of Microelectronics in Provence
A cutting-edge research center in microelectronics and IoT, specializing in strategic fields such as flexible electronics, hardware security for embedded systems, bioelectronics, as well as optimization and decision support for production and logistics.
Henri Fayol Institute
Focused on innovation management, ecological transition, and risk management. The institute explores interdisciplinary approaches to solve complex problems related to energy, circular economy, and sustainable development.
Materials Science and Mechanical Engineering
This center specializes in advanced materials, structural mechanics, and process science. Projects include the development of durable and resistant materials for sectors such as aeronautics, automotive, and construction.
Centre for Chemical Engineering
The center focuses on the study of dispersed systems (grains, particles, drops, bubbles, porous media) through multi-physical modeling, multiphase transfers, and physicochemical characterizations. Its innovative work aims at applications in energy, eco-efficient factories, and surface geosciences, with a strong commitment to sustainability.
