The leading platform for the Internet of Things on the Aix-Marseille-Provence campus.
The IoT Center is a Mines Saint-Étienne technology platform dedicated to experimentation and support for projects involving the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), and cybersecurity. Inaugurated on the Aix-Marseille-Provence campus, it enables VSEs/SMEs in the Sud region to accelerate their digital transformation by testing connected solutions before investing on a large scale.
A “test before you invest” approach
The IoT Center is part of a “test before you invest” approach: quickly experimenting with an idea, verifying its technical feasibility, and measuring its impact before a wider deployment.
Who is the platform for?
- VSEs and SMEs wishing to prototype, secure, or industrialize a connected solution.
- Project leaders in need of an experimental space and methodological support (diagnosis, prototyping, audit, training).
What the IoT Center offers you
A space and equipment for prototyping
The center offers a dedicated space (approximately 75 m², with plans for expansion in the future SPOT building) and prototyping and testing equipment (e.g., PCB plotters, spectrum analyzers, 3D equipment, soldering stations, sensors, etc.).
Support “from idea to POC”
Support is based on a tailored approach, notably combining: digital maturity diagnosis, feasibility study, technical expertise, prototyping/POC, audits (IoT, cybersecurity, AI), training, and strategic consulting.
Companies can also be guided and supported in seeking funding and accessing the regional innovation ecosystem.
Services offered
- Feasibility study (technical, organizational, market potential)
- Prototyping & Proof of Concept (POC): design and validation of functional prototypes
- Security assessment: identification of vulnerabilities and security recommendations
- Documentation, training, and support (depending on project needs)
A tool at the heart of a European programme
The IoT Center is part of the European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH) Move2Digital, a European initiative aimed at accelerating the digitalization of companies at a regional scale.
It is co-funded by the European Union and the Aix-Marseille-Provence Metropolis, with the support of the Sud Region and the Institut Mines-Télécom.
