The Henri Fayol Institute relies on strong involvement in several recognized research units, connected to the major themes carried by the school: management sciences, complex systems engineering, territorial, ecological, and digital transitions. These collaborations enable cross-disciplinary approaches, strengthen scientific impact, and address current societal challenges through high-level research.

The center is actively involved in the research unit Environment City Society (EVS – UMR 5600), as a component contributing to an interdisciplinary approach to territorial, environmental, and societal transformations. Through its work in human and social sciences applied to engineering, planning, and territorial governance, the center participates in enriching the reflections conducted within EVS, particularly on issues related to ecological transition, urban resilience, and interactions between technology, territories, and societies.

The Henri Fayol Institute is also involved in the research unit LIMOS – Laboratory of Computer Science, Modeling and Optimization of Systems (UMR 6158). In this capacity, it contributes to work on complex systems optimization, data science, artificial intelligence, and decision support. The team develops theoretical and applied approaches related to the challenges of digital transformation of organizations, intelligent logistics, and industrial performance, in partnership with academic and socio-economic stakeholders.

Some faculty researchers from the center are involved in the research unit COACTIS, specialized in management sciences. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to understanding and supporting organizational, economic, and social transitions. The center’s researchers contribute to COACTIS work on themes such as entrepreneurship, corporate social responsibility (CSR), social innovation, and digital transformation, with particular attention to territorial dynamics and sustainability issues.

Research serving society

Through these collaborations, the Henri Fayol Institute actively contributes to research focused on action, territory, and supporting transitions. It places science at the service of innovation, business, and society.
