Integrated into the ISMIN curriculum, the school project is designed to allow engineering students to develop solutions that meet the needs expressed by research departments and partner companies. This programme offers total immersion in a research, industrial, or technical-entrepreneurship project.
What is the school project?
The school project, lasting 12 weeks, brings together pairs of engineering students around a common goal: to design and develop a technical solution meeting the specific needs of a research department or an industrial partner.
This project, carried out in the second year, unfolds in three main stages:
Training phase
Students focus on preliminary training for requirement analysis and implementation.
Implementation phase
Students work full-time to design and develop the solution.
Final presentation
Results are presented during a defense before teacher-researchers.
Student Skills Mobilized
The projects mobilize a wide range of skills:
- Technical design: prototype development, creation of hardware or software models.
- Microelectronics and IoT: integrated circuits, connected sensors, embedded systems.
- Computer Science and AI: software development, machine learning, data science.
The acquired skills also include:
- Ability to write a report and communicate effectively.
- Ability to defend a project during a final presentation.
- Manage a project and implement technical skills in computer science, electronics, and microelectronics.
- Develop relational and professional aptitudes (soft skills).

- Development of an IoT sensor for industrial machine monitoring.
- Optimization of a computer vision algorithm for automatic anomaly detection.
- Prototyping of a connected medical device for patient monitoring.
