MedTechLab®: Healthcare Experimentation Living Lab
MedTechLab® is one of the tangible outcomes of the collaboration between AÉSIO Mutuelle, AÉSIO Santé and Mines de Saint-Étienne in the field of health engineering.
Building on the involvement of healthcare professionals from mutualist institutions, it is open to researchers, engineers, hospital healthcare professionals, mutualist and private practitioners, users and patients, companies and startups, etc., to design, test and trial new technologies applied to health and autonomy.
By offering design, trial and evaluation services, the Living Lab facilitates the transition from a simulated environment to real-world implementation of products or services incorporating technologies intended for the health and autonomy market.
Since January 2024, MedTechLab® has been a Third-Party Experimentation Site (TLE) and is part of the national acceleration strategy “Digital Health” under the France 2030 plan.
OUR STRENGTHS
- A clinical research hub (healthcare professionals, practitioners from mutualist institutions) supported by a scientific laboratory (engineers and researchers)
- A methodology combining Medicine/Engineering Sciences/Human and Social Sciences
- Tests carried out successively in a controlled environment, then in real conditions and finally at scale, using models (virtual reality, simulation, monitoring) in connection with the local ecosystem
Core Facilities
- The biomechanical testing platform is an infrastructure dedicated to the study of the mechanical properties of biomaterials, medical implants, and biological tissues. Equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and specialized expertise, this platform allows for simulating and analyzing the behavior of materials under various mechanical stresses, in conditions close to those of the human body.
