Transitions Laboratory: Industry, Territory, Society

To showcase its technological and methodological expertise, the Henri Fayol Institute has established a Transitions Laboratory. This laboratory consists of platforms and demonstrators derived from its research and training activities, enabling training, demonstration, and experimentation of the transformations necessary to address the transitions of industries and territories.

Developing effective policies for sustainable territorial resource management requires decision-making tools that allow for considering the dynamics of the territories in question and adjusting the parameters of collective regulation strategies.

Enables the simulation of a spatio-temporal object’s evolution. Assists in analyzing the results. Visualizes both the evolution of the object of study and the selected indicators.

Such tools must be able to adapt to the heterogeneity of the relevant domains by enabling the dynamic development of a processing chain, from data collection to the visualization of the alternative space. In this context, the Territory Technology Platform aims to provide both technical and promotional support for the work of the Henri Fayol Institute concerning the sustainable management of territories. New decision-making tools, such as mapping the energy potential of territories or urban logistics, can be developed using the services and data offered by the platform.

Coordinator of the IT’m Factory technology platform.

IT’mFactory is a technology platform resulting from a close partnership between CFAI Loire and Mines Saint-Étienne, thus giving it a unique character due to its multidisciplinary nature.
The objective of this space, representing a physical and virtual digital factory, is to present the essential markers of the industry of the future across several themes. It thus allows for raising awareness, training, and supporting VSEs, SMEs, and mid-caps to help them digitize their production tools.
