A cotutelle allows a PhD student to complete their thesis under the direction of two research supervisors from these two partner institutions. 👤 Who can enroll in a PhD?
Academic requirements
To apply, the prospective PhD student must:
- hold a French or foreign Master of Science in Engineering (or equivalent 5-year degree);
- and demonstrate research experience:
- via a research-oriented Master’s,
- or via significant research experience (long internship, contract, publication, etc.).
💼 Mandatory funding
Mines Saint-Étienne requires that every PhD student has funding for the duration of their thesis (doctoral contract, CIFRE, industrial funding, scholarship, international funding, etc.).
This funding must be validated before administrative registration.
💰 Registration fees
PhD registration includes:
- national PhD tuition fees,
- the Student and Campus Life Contribution (CVEC), mandatory for all PhD students.
