More than a profession, a calling: to participate in the transition towards a sustainable and lasting economic system.
Climate change is no longer a hypothesis: it is a reality. The environmental impacts of human activities require a profound rethinking of how we produce, consume, and manage resources. At the same time, the European Commission places the circular economy at the heart of its public policies, in order to reduce waste, encourage reuse, optimize flows, and develop more sustainable production methods.
In this context, both businesses and territories need professionals capable of designing and managing circular economy strategies, translating environmental challenges into concrete actions, and fostering innovative solutions for ecological transition.
This is precisely the ambition of the Advance Master ÉCITE programme, offered by Mines Saint-Étienne: to train experts capable of providing long-term support to organisations and regions in their transformations.
Why choose the MS-ÉCITE programme?
A program at the heart of ecological transition challenges
The MS-ÉCITE curriculum meets an urgent need identified by public and private stakeholders: to train specialists capable of deploying circular economy strategies, reducing environmental impact, and sustainably transforming business models.
It prepares professionals to address issues such as:
- waste reduction and material recovery,
- eco-design of products and services,
- flow optimization and industrial symbiosis,
- territorial resource management,
- new circular economic models.
Teaching rooted in real-world situations
Based on active pedagogy (real cases, simulations, diagnostics, case studies), the program relies on:
- contributions from sector experts,
- practical case studies,
- a guiding project,
- a company assignment,
- a structuring professional thesis.
The teaching methods are indicated in the brochure, page 3: guiding case study, practical cases, simulations.
A program oriented towards both businesses and territories
Thanks to its structure, the MS-ÉCITE programme makes it possible to work on:
- circular economy in public policies,
- the integration of circular practices in businesses,
- innovation through new products and services,
- collaborative territorial approaches.
A trained professional can thus intervene at all scales, from product to territory.
A unique and committed network of stakeholders
The programme is supported by a broad network (see logos on p.4 of the brochure):
- Eco-design Cluster
- AXELERA
- Institut Mines-Télécom
- Local authorities, consulting firms, committed industrial partners
- Academic network (ENISE, INRAE, UJM…)
Who is it for?
This programme is intended for:
- Master’s level (Bac+5) graduates, whether recent or changing careers;
- to candidates with a Master’s degree (Year 1) and at least 3 years of professional experience;
- experienced professionals looking to progress.
The Academic Directors’ Vision
Training stakeholders capable of transforming our economic models
“Global warming is a fact… It is necessary to change paradigms to move away from a linear approach and towards development that limits waste and environmental impact.
It is urgent to train individuals capable of meeting the challenge of the ecological transition at the scale of regions and businesses.
This is precisely what this programme offers.”
