Contribute to a radical shift in trajectory towards sustainable companies and territories

The “Ecological and Climate Transition of Territories and Organizations” program is designed for engineers who contribute to designing and implementing a radical change in trajectory for sustainable businesses and territories.
Ready to rethink their roles and practices in the face of socio-ecological challenges, these engineers take concrete action in complex situations, with a clear understanding of the issues faced by different local stakeholders.
Why choose TECTO?
Respecting planetary boundaries requires a profound transformation of our practices and operating models. This ecological transition calls for the mobilisation of all stakeholders (sectors, companies, organisations, etc.) and requires strong cooperation within and between territories. With a territorial and systemic approach, the TECTO programme aims to support an ecological transition that combines strong roots in local dynamics with an understanding of the complexity of ecological, climate, social, human, economic and regulatory issues, etc. This pathway aims to support the definition of strategic directions as well as the operational implementation of a roadmap for sustainable companies, organisations and territories.
A territorial approach
Join a network of organisations (companies, sectors, local authorities, etc.) seeking to operationalise sustainability and become more resilient at the territorial scale.
Understand a framework and a scale in order to take concrete, targeted action at the heart of a territory.
Work towards local balance while considering cooperation and interconnections.
A systemic approach
Grasp the complexity of technical, social and political issues.
Seek to act at the root to transform our ways of being and doing.
Who is it for?
TECTO is intended in particular for engineers:
- in companies, convinced that it is necessary to go beyond traditional CSR,
- responsible for the operational implementation of a transition plan,
- changing careers, seeking meaning and impact,
- in local authorities, wishing to embed a service in a strong sustainability approach,
- in support or consulting roles, seeking to strengthen their stance, methods and tools,
- recent graduates, wishing to complement technical training with a systemic and territorial perspective.
The programme may also be open to other profiles, assessed on a case-by-case basis.
Program Objectives

Planetary boundaries: the foundation of the programme
TECTO develops skills to:
- understand the issues related to planetary boundaries by linking global and local scales,
- mobilise operational tools to reduce impacts and anticipate risks,
- understand the framework and levers for action of a variety of stakeholders (local authorities, companies, associations),
- grasp individual and collective dynamics at the heart of transformations,
- take action in the field in close collaboration with local stakeholders.
Strong roots in territories
The TECTO pathway is built on an extensive network:
- EPURES, the urban planning agency for the Loire territories, partner;
- local authorities, and other public bodies;
- industrial companies and design offices specialising in transition;
- UMR 5600 – Environment City Society (EVS) and other research laboratories.
Learners take part in hands-on assignments and case studies, in collaboration with various stakeholders.
