  IMT has been accredited by two Carnot Institutes (M.I.N.E.S and Carnot Télécom & Société Numérique) since 2006. Its research projects involve both IMT research teams and socio-economic partners (companies, associations, local authorities, etc.). Collaborative research takes various forms, including contractual research, joint research projects, and technology transfer.
