Academics offered as part of CPE Lyon

Two specialized programs are offered to address industrial challenges related to particulate matter and scientific image analysis.

Process Engineering – Powder characterization

This training program aims to provide the theoretical and practical foundations to understand and control the behavior of powders in industrial processes. Participants will learn to characterize the physical properties of powders (particle size distribution, shape, density, flow, etc.) and to adapt measurement methods to specific industrial contexts.

Computer Science – Image Analysis

This program introduces participants to image analysis methods applied to inspection, quality control, or scientific research. It covers image processing concepts, segmentation, morphological characterization, and introduces digital tools enabling the automation of visual analysis.

Master of Science in Engineering

Multiphase Systems for Sustainable Engineering

This new program combining theoretical courses, practical work, and internships is therefore international in its recruitment. It is also international in its pedagogy, as courses are taken alternately at Mines Saint-Étienne, the Polytechnic School of Turin, and the Technical University of Munich. Upon completion of the program, taught in English, students will earn not one but three degrees from the different institutions attended.

MOOC

MOOC on image processing

Three MOOCs created by Yann Gavet are offered on the Coursera platform, each addressing a key topic in image processing. The first introduces filtering techniques, the second covers segmentation and characterization, and the third explores frequency and multi-scale analysis. These courses offer a progressive and structured introduction to the fundamentals of digital image processing.
