“Admission by Qualification to 2nd Year”

Students admitted by qualification to the second year follow this “classic” curriculum from their entry into the school.

Credit-exchange mobility can be undertaken at another institution if the specialization does not exist at the School of Mines, for example, Civil Engineering, Aeronautics, Robotics…
The third year then takes place at a partner school in France.

The third-year programme is designed to enable the development of an entrepreneurial project. Students also have the opportunity to pursue the Entrepreneurship Master’s degree (joint UJM / IAE) in their 3rd year.

In the third year, you can pursue a Master’s degree among those offered at the school. You can then continue towards a PhD.

The FUSION double degree is the result of a collaboration between Mines Saint-Étienne and emlyon business school, two institutions that have partnered based on a common desire to develop a 4-year Programme enabling a complete fusion of scientific, technical, and managerial approaches, while ensuring a thorough understanding of societal, environmental, and economic challenges.

This double degree leads to the awarding of:

• the title of graduate engineer from the École Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Saint-Étienne of Institut Mines-Télécom, more commonly known as “Master’s Degree in Science and Executive Engineering” (ICM);
• the diploma of the emlyon Grande École Programme (PGE, also known internationally as Master of Science in Management);

Have you completed your health studies access year (PASS or LAS) and are you enrolled in your second year of medicine, in France or abroad?

You can apply for the preparatory Programme of the Doctor-Engineer double degree at Mines Saint-Étienne.

This program, delivered remotely over two years, enables you to acquire the essential scientific and technical foundations before joining, after your 3rd year of medicine, the Ingénieur Civil des Mines (ICM) program directly in the second year, as part of a two-year gap year.

Upon completion of your ICM degree, you will resume your medical studies.

Have you completed your health studies access year (PASS or LAS) and are you a student in pharmacy, in France or abroad?

You can apply for the preparatory Programme of the Pharmacist-Engineer double degree at Mines Saint-Étienne.

This pathway, offered remotely over two years, enables you to acquire the essential scientific and technical skills before joining, after your 5th or 6th year of pharmacy, the Ingénieur Civil des Mines (ICM) program directly in the second year.

Upon completion of your ICM degree, you will resume your pharmaceutical path: internship and/or pharmacy thesis, depending on your professional project.

Have you completed your health studies access year (PASS or LAS) and are you pursuing dentistry studies, in France or abroad?

You can apply for the preparatory Programme of the Dentist-Engineer double degree at Mines Saint-Étienne.

This preparatory program, delivered remotely over two years, enables you to acquire the essential scientific foundations before joining, after your 5th or 6th year of dentistry, the Ingénieur Civil des Mines (ICM) program directly in the second year.

Upon completion of your ICM degree, you will resume your dental path: internship and/or dentistry thesis, depending on your professional project.

Agreements link the École des Mines de Saint-Étienne with French and foreign universities and schools. Students from some of these institutions can apply to prepare a double degree at Mines Saint-Étienne, and vice versa.

Students wishing to pursue a Master’s degree at Sciences Po after their third year at the school benefit from a simplified admission procedure.
