The Ingénieur Civil des Mines (ICM) program places quality of life, health, and the well-being of its students at the heart of its educational project.

At Mines Saint-Étienne, student success relies on a balance between rigorous training and supportive guidance.
The School believes that training an engineer also means supporting an individual: in their learning, social life, and personal development.

A supportive and personalized environment

Thanks to the close relationship between students, faculty, and administrative teams, each student benefits from attentive and individualized support.
Supervisors are attentive and available to support students in their projects, successes, and potential difficulties.

The human scale of the campus fosters a climate of trust and interaction among the different cohorts.

Health and Psychological Support

Medical Teleconsultations with Qare

All Mines Saint-Étienne students benefit from free access to medical teleconsultation thanks to a partnership with the Qare platform. This service allows students to consult general practitioners and specialists via video, 7 days a week, without upfront payment, thus facilitating access to care for all.

Psychological Support and Counseling Unit

A team of psychologists and social workers is available to support students experiencing stress or difficulties. These sessions, now reinforced, are offered twice a week. In addition, a partnership has been signed with Nightline, an association specializing in peer-to-peer supportive listening dedicated to students.

Prevention and Medical Support with the University Preventive Medicine (MPU)

Mines Saint-Étienne is committed to the prevention and medical support of its students in collaboration with the University Preventive Medicine (MPU). The MPU offers:

  • consultations with doctors, psychologists, and dieticians;
  • awareness campaigns on stress, nutrition, and addictions;
  • specific accommodations for students with disabilities.

Fighting Period Poverty

Since 2022, the School has been offering a range of free intimate hygiene products, including reusable solutions (menstrual cups, washable underwear) and tampons. In the restrooms, disposable protection (tampons and pads) is also available.

These products, supplied by local and eco-responsible companies (La Culotte Parisienne, Peau Éthique, Loulou Cup, StrawBerry and Marguerite & Cie) reflect our commitment to promoting sustainable and socially responsible solutions.
This initiative aims to reduce inequalities, meet the needs of menstruating individuals and foster an inclusive environment within the School.

Disability Support Office and Accessibility

The Disability Support Office supports students with disabilities or long-term health conditions.
It ensures the implementation of adapted accommodations:

  • exam and course accommodations,
  • adaptation of educational materials,
  • accessibility of premises and specific equipment,
  • administrative and social support.

Mines Saint-Étienne is committed to guaranteeing all its students equal opportunities and full inclusion.

Equality, Respect, and Inclusion

The School promotes a culture of mutual respect and equality among all students.
Each year, it conducts awareness campaigns on:

  • gender equality,
  • the fight against discrimination,
  • harassment prevention,
  • respect for cultural and social diversity.

A support and reporting unit is available in cases of harassment, violence, or discrimination.
Reports are handled with confidentiality and care.

Academic Support and Tutoring

To promote everyone’s success:

  • academic advisors support students throughout their program,
  • peer tutoring allows students to help each other,
  • workshops on methodology, time management, and guidance are offered regularly,
  • and individualized consultations are organized at each stage of the program.

The objective: to help each student build their path at their own pace, according to their ambitions and needs.

🌱 Daily Well-being

The school implements numerous initiatives to improve well-being on campus:

  • Relaxation and social spaces in the Student House,
  • Sports and artistic activities promoting relaxation,
  • Well-being days (relaxation, nutrition, sophrology),
  • Group discussion sessions on mental health and stress management.

Mines Saint-Étienne strives to create a healthy, balanced, and personally enriching environment.
