The Mines civil engineering curriculum is fully integrated into an open and connected world.
Internationalization is at the heart of the ICM cycle, both in the academic curriculum and in campus life.
Mines Saint-Étienne educates engineers capable of thriving in multicultural environments, leading international projects, and contributing to a sustainable and interconnected world.
A School Open to the World
Each year, nearly a third of ICM cycle students undertake an international mobility experience during their studies.
Concurrently, the school welcomes numerous international students, contributing to the cultural richness of the campus.
The objective is for every ICM student to have at least one significant international experience (internship, academic exchange, or project).
International Experiences Integrated into the Curriculum
Mobility is an integral part of the ICM training programme:
- Internships abroad (in companies or laboratories),
- Academic exchange semesters at a partner university,
- Double degrees with institutions of excellence,
- Collaborative international projects.
These experiences enable students to strengthen their autonomy, language proficiency, adaptability, and intercultural understanding.
Undertake an Internship or Exchange Semester
Students can undertake:
- a 2nd-year internship abroad (10 to 12 weeks),
- a 6-month final-year internship in a company or an international research center,
- or an academic semester at a partner university in Europe or outside Europe.
Mobility experiences are supported by the International Relations Department, which assists with:
- choosing the most suitable destination,
- preparing administrative procedures,
- obtaining scholarships and mobility aid.
