I. About the Programme
The PDIS Program is not an integrated preparatory class: it does not prepare for the entrance exams of engineering schools.
However, it offers an orientation pathway towards several opportunities, accessible without competitive exams, such as:
- the engineering programs of IMT schools,
- the second year of medical studies,
- or Master’s programs in the fields of engineering and health.

Upon completion of the program, the student receives:
- the PDIS institutional diploma from Mines Saint-Étienne,
- the Licence in Health Sciences (L1 + L2) from Jean Monnet University.

The Preparatory and Diploma Cycle in Engineering and Health (PDIS) is a 2-year post-baccalaureate program aimed at students interested in science, health, innovation, and technology.
It offers a selective alternative to CPGE or initial medical study cycles and allows students to keep both paths open: engineering and health.

The PDIS takes place over 4 semesters (S1 → S4), with:
- a common core curriculum in the first year,
- a choice between Engineering Option or Health Option in the second year.

On the Campus Santé Innovations, 4 days a week, comprising:
- the Centre for Biomedical and Healthcare Engineering of Mines Saint-Étienne,
- the Faculty of Medicine,
- near the North University Hospital.
and one day at the historic site of Mines Saint-Étienne school, at 158 cours Fauriel.

III. Admission and Funding
Yes: the objective of the program is also to prepare for entry into the Ingénieur Civil des Mines (ICM) program or other engineering schools.
