Admission to the Preparatory and Degree Cycle in Engineering and Health is done via Parcoursup starting in mid-January.

One application, two institutions: Mines Saint-Étienne and Jean Monnet University.

⚙️ Admission Procedure

1️⃣ Eligibility Phase

Applications are evaluated according to the following criteria:

  • Review of academic record (first and final year)
    Grades in core subjects: mathematics, physics, biology, French, and English.
  • Skills, work methods, and know-how
    Teachers’ comments, class council opinions, and elements from the “Work Methods” section of the Avenir form.
  • Interpersonal skills
    “Autonomy” and “Ability to commit to work” sections of the Avenir form.
  • Motivation and project coherence
    Professional projection letter explaining your project.
  • Commitments and interests
    “Activities and interests” and “Commitment” sections of the Avenir form.

2️⃣ Admission Phase

Candidates are classified into three categories:

  • Highly eligible
    Accepted without further conditions (interview waived).
  • Ranked
    Invited to a 20-minute interview focusing on motivation and interest in engineering and health fields.
  • Not ranked
    Application not accepted if academic level is insufficient.

  • Opening: mid-January
  • Application deadline: March
  • Main admission phase: May-June
