The Embedded Electronic Systems Engineering (ISEE) academics is offered under an apprenticeship contract, allowing learners to follow a recognized and demanding engineering curriculum without tuition fees and with a monthly salary.
Work-study programs are a preferred route for entering a high-demand sector while building solid professional experience.

Academics fees
Apprenticeship: €0 tuition fees for the learner
All pedagogical costs are funded by:
- the host company’s OPCO,
- the company itself,
- the ISTP (academics provider),
- and in some cases, additional funding.
👉 The apprentice pays no academics fees to Mines Saint-Étienne or ISTP.
Apprentice remuneration
Remuneration depends on your age and the year of academics.
As an indication (apprenticeship contract):
- Under 18: 27% • 39% • 55% of the SMIC according to 1st, 2nd, 3rd year.
- 18 to 20 years old: 43% • 51% • 67% of the SMIC according to 1st, 2nd, 3rd year.
- 21 to 25 years old: 53% • 61% • 78% of the SMIC according to 1st, 2nd, 3rd year.
- 26 and older: at least 100% of the SMIC regardless of the contract year.
Some companies apply higher remuneration according to their collective agreement (energy, industry, engineering…), or when the minimum conventional salary (SMC) is higher than the SMIC.

- Social criteria grants (for certain specific situations)
ISTP supports each apprentice in accessing the corresponding schemes.
VAE – Engineer
The VAE allows you to obtain an engineering degree without following the full academics.
Conditions
- Minimum 2 years of higher education (Bac+2)

- Compilation of a portfolio of evidence
- Final interview before a jury
