Join an ISEE Work-Study Engineering Program - Mines Saint-Étienne & ISTP

The Embedded Electronic Systems Engineer program is accessible via two distinct paths, tailored to individual profiles and backgrounds.

Apprenticeship (3 years): the main access route to the diploma, intended for initial training candidates.
Validation of Acquired Experience (VAE): for candidates with significant industrial experience.

Below you will find details of each admission path, as well as the selection stages for the apprenticeship program.

Admission to the apprenticeship Academics program, offered by Mines Saint-Étienne in partnership with ISTP, follows a structured process to evaluate the candidate’s potential, motivation, and suitability.

Final admission is effective only after signing an apprenticeship contract with a company.

Admission Stages

The candidate journey unfolds in several successive phases:

1. Online Application

Registration on the ISTP portal

Here you will provide your personal and academic information, and your professional project.

2. Scheduling for a Test and Interview Session

Sessions take place from February to June.
You will be scheduled for a date based on availability and capacity.

3. Application Review

The academic team examines:

your academic record,
your academic level,
consistency with the expected skills in industrial engineering.

4. Written Tests (MCQs)

Eligible candidates take a series of written exams:

Mathematics
Scientific Logic
French
English

5. Motivational Interview

During an exchange with a jury, you will present:

your motivation,
your professional project,
your interest in industry,
your aptitude for a work-study program.

6. Admission Jury

The final jury, chaired by Mines Saint-Étienne, decides on the eligibility of candidates.

Each stage is eliminatory, to ensure the coherence of the program and suitability for the engineering level.

7. Contract with a Company

After validation by the jury, you enter the support phase to find your host company.

ISTP assists you through:

networking with a large network of partner companies,
CV / interview coaching,
individual follow-up.

👉 Each eligible candidate receives an average of 20 offers corresponding to their profile and project.

Admission becomes final once the apprenticeship contract is signed.
