The first edition of the Winter Innovation Lab, co-organized by Saint-Étienne’s higher education institutions, Crédit Agricole, and Pepite Beelys Lyon Saint-Étienne, took place from February 26 to March 2 in Saint-Étienne. 40 participants, including five engineering students from Mines Saint-Étienne, representing 30 startup projects in prototyping, were supported at the innovation pre-factory.

• Three 2nd-year ICM engineering students participated in this first edition of the Winter Innovation Lab as part of Systole: Guillaume Abot, Pauline Chevreau, and Matthieu Benoiton. This project, supported by TEAM@Mines Saint-Étienne and led by geriatrician Guillaume Arcese, is also a PRICE project (ICM curriculum). Systole involves the development of an electronic bracelet for the early detection of heart rhythm disorders.

• Jérôme Mouret, a 2017 ICM graduate and founder of HOSPIMAP, came to prototype his project for geolocation and orientation within healthcare facilities (a digital and physical interface for patients).

Anthony Ciceron, a 2016 ISMIN graduate and founder of Looink, an online “personal shopper,” also took part in this first edition.

Winter Innovation Lab: when higher education from Saint-Étienne and Lyon comes together to support entrepreneurs in prototyping, it is a success and a milestone for the network.

Mines Saint-Étienne is a partner of Village by CA, an initiative by Crédit Agricole Loire Haute-Loire: a co-hosting solution for projects with high technological content to welcome startups.

Several events were also organized in parallel during this week: visits to sites in Saint-Étienne, meetings with business leaders, and more.
