On Saturday, August 29, students from the new class of the Ingénieur Civil des Mines program met with their families on the campus at 158, cours Fauriel. The program included a presentation of the school and a tour of its emblematic sites.
It’s not always easy to envision a new student life! To facilitate the integration of ICM students, Mines Saint-Étienne offers them a campus tour, with their families for those who wish.
Thus, over 160 people gathered on the historic campus to prepare for the start of the academic year. Participants were welcomed by Jacques Fayolle, Director of Mines Saint-Étienne, and Krzysztof Wolski, Director of Studies, for a presentation of the curriculum, the school, and its values.
Between History and Innovation
Another highlight of the morning was the guided tour provided by 2nd-year students. The groups delved into the school’s history through the building’s facade, the portrait corridor, and the uniform, as if to better contextualize the places where they will forge their future: library, classrooms, Fab-Lab, and convivial spaces.
Families and students particularly appreciated this moment of exchange, which served as a wonderful introduction for the next three years!
