The former industrial brownfield site located at 2, rue Copernic has been transformed. New spaces have emerged to offer large modular volumes. The contemporary architecture preserves the spirit of the place, serving as a bridge between the historical heritage and the industry of the future.
The demolition of the old structure represented the greatest challenge of this project, whose total budget exceeds 5 million euros. Now decontaminated and rehabilitated, the building reveals the future exhibition and coworking spaces, offices, as well as technology and research areas.
The TWIN building will be delivered at the end of the year. It will constitute a unique exploration venue where engineering students, faculty researchers, and companies can co-create tomorrow’s industrial solutions.
An experimentation and innovation space
TWIN will centralize several laboratories and technology platforms, including:
- The IT’M Factory, dedicated to supporting SMEs, VSEs, and mid-sized companies in their digital transition
- The FAB-ADD platform equipped with WAAM and LPBF equipment, dedicated to additive manufacturing
As a showcase and workshop for the industry of the future, TWIN will also host TEAM, the start-up incubator of Mines Saint-Etienne.
This unique venue will stimulate exchanges and complementarities between education, research, start-up maturation, and proof-of-concept and prototyping phases.
