Explore, understand, meet the players driving industrial transformation: each year, GOFab! deciphers innovation—from artificial intelligence and decarbonisation to the ecological transition and CSR. As an event partner, Mines Saint-Étienne took an active part by showcasing its expertise and the projects it leads.
On 13 October, the Arena Saint-Étienne hosted the 2026 edition of GOFab!, the event that brings together industrial innovation stakeholders under the impetus of the Lyon Métropole Saint-Étienne Roanne Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
A true showcase for tomorrow’s industrial technologies and production methods, GOFab! offers round tables and workshops on strategic topics for the industry of the future.
As part of the programme, Damien Lamy, from the Fayol Institute, led the workshop “Organisational digital twins: a new decision-support tool for SMEs and SMIs”, alongside Christophe Blanchon, Engineering Manager at Inoprod.
GOFab! also echoes the RéCLasSIF project led by Institut Mines-Télécom and the École nationale supérieure d’Arts et Métiers. This initiative helps bring schools, businesses and local stakeholders closer together to better support industrial transformations.
In this context, Mines Saint-Étienne was able to present its offering in the industry of the future to a large audience, in both education and research:
- New 3i specialised engineering degree (Integrator of innovations in industry)
- DIWII innovation platform
- Fab-Waam metal additive manufacturing platform
Startups making a name for themselves
Another highlight of the trade show, the GOFab! 2026 Trophy ceremony shone a spotlight on three startups incubated at Mines Saint-Étienne, out of five nominees: Carbon Cage, Liaison R&D and Wallace Technologies.
Innovation driven by the School was recognised, as Wallace Technologies won the prize in the Startup category, in the presence of Jacques Fayolle, Director, Antoine Lavignotte, Director of Development, and local political stakeholders.
This young company develops thermal energy storage solutions without lithium or rare earths. Its dynamism reflects Mines Saint-Étienne’s commitment to bringing concrete, high-impact solutions to the major industrial challenges of tomorrow.
