The Zircoya© by Opti’Waves furnace very soon on the market!
Winner of the Bercy Innovation IMT 2019 award, presented during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2019, Opti’Waves, founded and directed by Sébastien Saunier, a research-lecturer at Mines Saint-Étienne, “will launch the commercialization of the microwave furnace for accelerated firing of dental prostheses in October.”
The article published on August 6 (L’essor de la Loire) beautifully recounts the rise of the School’s spin-off startup: “Opti’Waves enters the future dentistry market”.
The rapid microwave sintering of ceramic dental prostheses is the result of 10 years of research. Opti’Waves offers a disruptive technological innovation allowing a reduction in manufacturing time “A furnace that fires dental prostheses in 40 minutes instead of 8 to 15 hours”, a scientific feat also highlighted by the France Inter editorial team’s focus on June 26.
