Officially created in 2022, Solidar’ISMIN is the association focused on sustainable development for the Georges Charpak Provence campus. Its objective: to support or create initiatives and projects that align with a solidarity or sustainable development approach, as well as to assist students in need.

The Genesis

In 2021, students from the ISMIN program came together with the aim of helping children with cancer. Together, they organized a fundraiser for the AIDA association. Their peers immediately responded. Faced with the success of the event and the students’ desire to get involved in charitable projects, the idea of creating a club began to take shape. Thus, the Solidar’ISMIN club was born. A year later, the club was transformed into an association. Its goal is to support or create initiatives and projects that align with a solidarity or sustainable development approach. The association also assists students in need. The adventure continues…

Some of their flagship actions

Fundraising

Last June, Solidar’ISMIN organized a fundraiser for the AIDA association (support for hospitalized children suffering from cancer) and the Red Cross in Ukraine. Students could purchase cookies, plants, and smoothies to help these associations. In total, nearly €400 were raised thanks to their generosity.

Helping students in difficulty and preventing food waste

Every Saturday, a local supermarket offers the association unsold products (soon to expire or items with a defect). These still edible products are made available to students. This allows those in need to benefit from free products and to prevent food waste.

Fighting the digital divide

The association will donate 150 laptops to high school students. They were donated by STMicroelectronics because the company can no longer use them for warranty reasons. These computers will be reformatted to give them a second life and allow high school students to properly pursue their studies.

Bringing smiles to children

Last year, the association organized a workshop to create Christmas cards for hospitalized children. Many students participated in this initiative. Dozens of cards were made and sent to the AIDA association as part of the “Christmas at the Hospital” operation. The operation is being renewed for this year!
