The Ingénieur Civil des Mines programme is officially recognised for the quality of its internationalisation. The CTI unanimously voted to award the CequInt label, endorsed by the ‘European Consortium for Accreditation’: this is excellent news that crowns a collective effort. Two strengths will be published as best practices on the ECA website: the learning environment and the services offered to students.
Nearly two years of work and actions undertaken collectively
As part of our international certification process, the CequInt auditors met last July with representative panels from the institution: French and international students, faculty, alumni, partners, the international office and the management team.
The CeQuInt “Certificate for quality in internationalisation” label for Mines Saint-Étienne’s ICM programme is now official: this label attests to the School’s quality in preparing its students for an international career and in successfully implementing academic activities, monitoring and sustainable internationalisation initiatives:
- Internationalisation strategy and objectives
- International and intercultural skills
- Programme content, environment and teaching methods
Two exemplary strengths: “Studying environment” and “Services to students”
The auditors highlighted two aspects of internationalisation that they consider to be “best practices” to follow at Mines Saint-Étienne: the learning environment and the services offered to students.
Learning environment: visibility of signage on campus, easier contact with international teams, availability of visiting professors, mobility and internship opportunities, as well as the welcome and integration of international students at Mines Saint-Étienne: strong collective work and a high level of intercultural skills are highlighted.
Services provided and offered to students: the School’s and staff’s commitment to students, dedicated staff for incoming mobility, country coordinators for outgoing mobility, and significant choices in the quality of international partners are among the best practices established within the School as part of its international development.
These ‘Best Practices’ will be published on the European Consortium for Accreditation website, as will our CeQuInt certification.

Thanks and congratulations are shared with all stakeholders, internal and external, partners and teaching teams.
Short- and medium-term objectives now focus on monitoring indicators and implementing, already approved since the start of this academic year, a double international mobility opportunity for ICM students.
