Institut Mines-Télécom Business School and Mines Saint-Étienne have just signed a strategic partnership agreement serving education, research, and economic development: it combines the expertise of a management school with that of an engineering school.
While collaborations already exist between these two partners, this new agreement strengthens or completes specific projects and provides a framework for several joint programmes.
The “education” component
It specifically concerns the strengthening of dual degrees between our two schools: this mobility is already open to our engineering students, and the reciprocal arrangement is to be studied for fields not offered within schools that are geographically closer: specific and complementary themes such as the environment, health, design…
The implementation of a continuing professional education offer will also be studied: linked to digital projects, it will be aimed particularly at engineers and Master of Science in Engineering students.
The “research” component
The collaboration already involves our research teams on common themes combining the expertise of both partners in management sciences, humanities, and engineering.
As part of the Franco-German Academy for the Industry of the Future, an IMT maturation project entitled “Industry without Borders” was conducted in 2017-2019 on the impacts of digital transformation on companies. Following this initial collaboration, a joint Franco-Austrian ANR project was submitted in January 2020 on the theme of new organizational frontiers.
The key themes of the Henri Fayol Institute of Mines Saint-Étienne regarding responsible innovations, the human role in digitalization, and the challenges of the digital transition are also at the heart of these collaborations. Joint organization and participation in events (symposia, workshops, etc.) fully complete this scientific component (example of the day on January 28, 2020, on “What is the impact of digital transformation in the medico-social field?”).
The partnership agreement also provides for the sharing of best practices and collective actions regarding sustainable development and social responsibility within the broader Institut Mines-Télécom network.
