The Master of Science Hybrid Electronics is a selective and international programme, designed to welcome high-level scientific and technical candidates. We are looking for candidates who wish to synthesize Materials Science, Nanotechnologies, and Autonomous Communicating Systems Engineering.
Who is the HybElec Master of Science in Engineering for?
This Master of Science in Engineering is aimed at students wishing to develop cutting-edge expertise at the interface of materials – electronics – nano/micro-fabrication – IoT systems – bioelectronics.
It offers a privileged path towards sectors undergoing rapid transformation: wearable technologies, flexible electronics, biomedical devices, micro-energy, Internet of Things…
The programme is 100% taught in English, with a strong international and scientific dimension.
Eligible Profiles
This Master of Science in Engineering is a one-year specialization programme (M2). It is aimed at students who have already acquired a solid foundation of knowledge in fundamental scientific disciplines.
1. Students with an M1 level
From programs in:
- microelectronics, electronics, electrical engineering,
- physics or physical chemistry,
- materials science, nanotechnologies,
- electrical engineering, instrumentation,
- biomedical engineering, bioengineering,
- or any related field demonstrating an interest in advanced electronics.
Holders of a degree equivalent to 240 ECTS (French or international) are eligible.
2. Engineers and Scientists in Career Transition or Upskilling
The Master of Science in Engineering also welcomes:
- engineers wishing to specialize in flexible electronics, bioelectronics, or IoT,
- professionals from materials or processes backgrounds wishing to transition to electronic devices,
- experienced senior technicians with a strong technical background and able to demonstrate an equivalent M1 level.
3. International Candidates
International applications are welcome.
The academic committee evaluates academic equivalence and English proficiency.
Academic Prerequisites and Skills
Ideal candidates possess a solid foundation in the core disciplines of hybrid electronics:
- Materials and Nanotechnologies
Understanding of material properties, nanosciences, and manufacturing processes. - Electronics and Systems
Knowledge of microelectronics, circuit design, and fundamentals of signal acquisition and processing systems. - Laboratory Skills
Strong motivation for experimental sciences and ability to work in a research environment (cleanrooms, analysis platforms).
Language Requirement (100% English)
The MSc Hybrid Electronics is a programme with a strong international focus, taught entirely in English.
- Mandatory English Proficiency
A good command of English (reading, writing, speaking) is imperative to follow courses, interact with international professors and researchers, and write your Master’s Thesis. - A TOEFL/IELTS score may be required for non-native candidates, depending on the current year’s admission procedure.
Human and Professional Qualities
To excel in this Master of Science in Engineering, which is oriented towards innovation and research, the following qualities are essential:
- Curiosity and Boldness
Strong interest in emerging technologies (bioelectronics, wearable tech, IoT) and a desire to push the boundaries of traditional electronics. - Experimental Rigor
Critical thinking and analytical skills to conduct complex research projects, often in collaboration with partner laboratories (UCSD, Technion, etc.). - Autonomy
Ability to integrate into a high-level research environment and successfully complete a long-term Master’s Thesis project (4 to 6 months).
