Training engineers capable of driving the ecological and climate transition of organisations and territories

TECTO prepares engineers and professionals to integrate planetary boundaries into decision-making, to act in multi-stakeholder contexts, and to build sustainability trajectories at the scale of an organisation, a sector, or a territory. Graduates are distinguished by their ability to link strategic vision and operational implementation, with an approach adapted to complex transformations.

What sets TECTO graduates apart

Graduates of the TECTO programme develop:

  • a systemic vision;
  • a multi-scale analysis capability (organisation, sector, territory);
  • a reflexive approach and an ability to facilitate cooperation between stakeholders;
  • technical expertise supported by operational tools (impacts, risks, trajectories, resilience).

Types of employers

Graduates work in various organisations:

  • industrial and service companies;
  • local authorities and agencies (urban planning, energy-climate, development);
  • public institutions, associations, and SSE structures;
  • design offices and consultancy firms specialising in ecological transition.

Examples of accessible professions

Upon completion of the programme, graduates can hold positions such as:

  • Ecological / low-carbon transition mission management
  • Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) – strong sustainability approach
  • Territorial resilience project management
  • Carbon accounting / climate strategy management
  • Territorial planning / sustainable transformation consultancy
  • Territorial Climate-Air-Energy Plan (PCAET) coordination
  • Environmental or low-carbon strategy expertise

Depending on their previous background, the programme is also relevant for sector-specific positions, such as: design engineer, purchasing manager, urban planner, renewable energy territorial developer, resource efficiency manager, or consultation facilitator.

Relevant sectors of activity

Graduates find opportunities in sectors undergoing significant transformation:

  • Energy and environment
  • Planning and urban development
  • Sustainable building and construction
  • Agri-food and agricultural sector
  • Industry and sustainable innovation
  • Support for public and private stakeholders (services, project management, developers, design offices)

A committed and interdisciplinary network

The TECTO programme relies on a network of partners from research, business, and local territories:

  • EPURES, Urban planning agency for the Loire territories, partner;
  • local authorities and public institutions;
