The 2026 world ranking of top universities is out!
Since 2004, World University Ranking has provided data on the performance of higher education institutions worldwide. The objective is to evaluate the performance of these institutions and to offer readers a resource for understanding their various missions and achievements.
This ranking includes 2,191 institutions from 115 countries, and for the 3rd consecutive year, Mines Saint-Étienne stands out by ranking between 600th and 800th worldwide. The School demonstrates excellent performance across several pillars that define the WUR ranking:
- We are 178th in the “teaching” pillar: a recognition of our pedagogical excellence and the positive impact of our teaching approach on our students.
- We are 473rd in the “research environment” pillar: a testament to the quality of our research environment and the innovation that thrives within it.
- We are 344th in the “industry” pillar: proof of our close and fruitful collaboration with the industrial world.
- We are 406th in the “international outlook” pillar: a validation of our international openness and our global attractiveness.
We still need to improve in the “research quality” pillar, where Mines Saint-Etienne is ranked 1683rd. This is a challenge for the School, which distinguished itself this year in the Stanford University ranking, recognizing the influence of 9 of our researchers.
Always striving to strengthen Mines Saint-Etienne’s international standing, we are proud that our school confirms its position among the best higher education institutions in the world.
