On Friday, July 3, future PDIS students were welcomed with their families by Jacques Fayolle, Director of Mines Saint-Étienne, and Laurent Navarro, researcher-lecturer and program director.
This meeting allowed future students to envision their upcoming environment while awaiting their start date on Monday, August 31.

At the Crossroads of Engineering and Health
The Preparatory Cycle in Engineering and Health (PDIS) welcomes its 2nd cohort in September. This program is accessible after the baccalaureate and comprises 60% female students.
It constitutes an alternative to preparatory classes and medical studies, with highly selective admission as fewer than one in ten applicants is admitted.
Upon completion of the program, students obtain a dual degree:
- the PDIS institutional diploma from Mines Saint-Étienne;
- the “Health Sciences” bachelor’s degree from Jean Monnet University.
Note: 6 places are reserved for PDIS students in the 2nd year of medical school.
The first cohort will graduate at the end of 2027.
