Mines Saint-Étienne welcomed companies and public stakeholders to the Campus Santé Innovations during an afterwork visit on September 15. On the agenda: a presentation of the school and the activities of the Centre for Biomedical and Healthcare Engineering, to foster new collaborations.
A unique scientific center of excellence in France, the Centre for Biomedical and Healthcare Engineering (CIS) is located at the heart of the Campus Santé Innovations at the Saint-Étienne University Hospital.
It aims to create synergies between applied research and engineering to provide concrete solutions to healthcare challenges.
The CIS thus serves as an exceptional lever for regional transformation, as noted by the companies, public and institutional stakeholders, and professional network representatives who visited it.
Following a review of Mines Saint-Étienne’s programmes, research activities, and start-up incubation, attendees were able to envision the work carried out at the center by exploring various spaces: research laboratories, technical platforms, and the MedTechLab experimentation third-place.
Envisioning tomorrow’s projects
Campus visits aim to bring researchers and engineers closer to industrial and medical stakeholders to develop strategic partnerships.
They facilitate technology transfer while opening new perspectives for innovation, as explained by Antoine Lavignotte, Director of Development: “Mines Saint-Étienne has chosen a partnership-based research model built alongside companies. A collaboration is born from a conversation between a manager and a professor-researcher who discover they are working on the same issue: this is the whole point of these campus visits, which we organize regularly. Everyone comes out stronger—the company with an innovation it can take further, and the School with work fueled by the challenges of its territory.“
Mines Saint-Étienne thus confirms its vocation to put engineering and research at the service of societal challenges.
