Over 200 students worked in teams on December 4 and 5 at the Hôtel de Région in Marseille and took up the challenge of developing a project in 36 hours. Congratulations to Corentin Maesen, Lorenzo Moura, and Joey Li, ISMIN students, members of the winning teams for the Gold Chrono and Silver Chrono respectively, for the “Carbuvor” and “Eco-Save” projects.
The official results of the 36H Chrono for Business Creation awarded 10 winning teams: this major event raising awareness of student entrepreneurship is supported by our partner Pepite Provence in conjunction with numerous funders and partners: coaches, experts, jury members, and institutional representatives.
The awards ceremony, hosted by economic journalist Yves Blisson, concluded AMU Enterprise Week.
Julie Davico-Pahin, co-founder of Ombrea, was the patron of this 7th edition.
The “Carbuvor” project receives the Gold Chrono
The team was composed of Corentin Maesen, 2nd-year ISMIN student, Mélanie Pouget and Gaël Bagnost, students in Master of Science in Engineering in Business and Market Economics – Business Creation, and Sellin Eléonore, student in Master of Science in Engineering in International Business and Management.
“Our project aims to depollute port areas from hydrocarbons present in the water. To do this, we decided to use human hair (which has the property of absorbing hydrocarbons) collected from hair salons.
We were particularly interested in the project’s marketing strategy. The idea is to create “caterpillars” with covers that we will place on the surface of the water in the port. Once the hydrocarbons are absorbed, we will produce energy with them in an incinerator. Communication about the project, which is humorous and data-driven to raise maximum awareness among young people, is fundamental so that local authorities can promote this ecological solution.”
The Silver Chrono goes to the “EcoSave” project
“Recycling bathroom wastewater for toilets, economical and ecological”: this project was led by Joey Li, Lorenzo Moura, 1st-year ISMIN students, and Marie-Laurence Heimburger, Science Po Aix, 2nd year.
“EcoSave is a system that allows individuals to save up to 30% of their water consumption. It recovers shower water to filter and sterilize it. It will then be stored in a tank placed behind the built-in toilet or under the shower so as not to compromise the aesthetics of the bathroom. This stored water will then be used for flushing toilets.”
“This event allowed us to discover business creation and intensive teamwork. Exchanging with experts was truly enriching. Even if some aspects of the work are taught in class, practice is different and constitutes a unique experience!”
“#36hCHRONO is also an entire ecosystem that gathers around students to introduce them to entrepreneurship! Funders and partners are warmly thanked. Congratulations to all students for the success of this 7th edition.
