Study and internship mobilities are in the spotlight from October 12 to 17, with Erasmus Days! This annual event highlights the richness and opportunities of the Erasmus programme, the “education” pillar of the European Union. Mines Saint-Étienne is mobilizing for the event, true to its commitment to be an actor in education and research at the heart of international issues.
For this 10th edition, Erasmus Days focuses on skills as a driver of innovation, resilience, and competitiveness for Europe. At the heart of this dynamic, the Erasmus+ programme opens horizons for students by allowing them to develop their potential in an international environment.
Mines Saint-Étienne is particularly invested in this initiative. It is also a holder of the Erasmus+ Charter, with a score of 100/100!
Inform, discover, share
Mines Saint-Étienne got a head start on Erasmus Days by raising awareness among its research-professors about setting up Erasmus KA2 projects and the EULiST alliance on October 6 (intervention by Olivier Epinette and Irma Amirezachvili from DG IMT).
On this occasion, the research-professors were able to grasp the full potential offered by these projects, which support cooperation between organizations, in addition to individual mobility already widely deployed at the School.
Another highlight of Erasmus Days at the School, the traditional “International Potluck” of the Erasmus Mundus Multiphase Master of Science in Engineering takes place today. This is the festive ritual of the programme: a potluck for which each participant of the Joint Master of Science in Engineering Erasmus Mundus MULTIPHASE prepares a culinary specialty from their country or region of origin. The 25 students of the new cohort will thus share a meal rich in tastes, colors, and discoveries!
On October 23, the International Mobility Forum will welcome students from Saint-Étienne to the historic campus. How the Erasmus programme works, partners, registration procedures, choice of destinations, eco-responsible mobilities… all topics will be addressed to ensure that everyone’s international experience is a success.
Finally, to continue the adventure, another gourmet and intercultural break will be held on November 19 on the Aix-Marseille-Provence campus, with the support of the International Student Office (BDI). Titled “French Village – International Village,” this exchange moment invites staff and students to meet around an international feast that will highlight all nationalities and cultures represented at the school. Of course, an Erasmus stand will be at the heart of the event, to present Erasmus opportunities to students and research-professors.
These days highlight the European dimension of Mines Saint-Étienne’s programmes. The School has indeed woven a network of 60 Erasmus partners and supports around a hundred Erasmus mobilities each year (studies, internships, teaching, staff training).
It is also deploying a new format: Erasmus BIP (Blended Intensive Programme) which combines short-term mobility and online learning. In August 2026, the BIP Edu4Chip welcomed 40 students from Technical University of Munich (Germany), KTH Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden), Technical University of Denmark, Tampere University (Finland) for 5 days on the Aix-Marseille Provence Campus.
In September 2026, 10 ICM students and 2 professors participated in the BIP Green Hydrogen, jointly organized by Mines Saint-Étienne, TU Wien (Austria), and University of L’Aquila (Italy) as part of the EULiST Alliance. The 2028 edition of this BIP will be hosted by Mines Saint-Étienne.
All these actions mark the School’s adherence to the priorities of the European Union, contribute to its attractiveness, and strengthen the influence of its programmes beyond our borders.
