The first event dedicated to surface treatment will take place on October 2 and 3 in Saint-Étienne, organized by Manutech-USD. “The first European platform equipped with ultrashort pulse lasers for all types of materials for industry,” it brings together several industrial and academic partners, including Mines Saint-Étienne.
The event “Surface Manufacturing – 2018 Biennial”, aimed at SMEs, startups, and companies, is intended to mark “a new milestone in innovation for job creation.” It will take place at the Quartier Créatif Manufacture in Saint-Étienne.
A first day dedicated to industrial innovation in surface treatment
The challenges of surface treatment in industry—texturing, additive manufacturing, and surface functionalization—will be at the heart of the discussions: a day of scientific and technical conferences featuring faculty members from Mines Saint-Étienne. Jenny Faucheu, from the SMS Center, will speak on perception engineering.
The day will conclude with the launch of the University Research School MANUTECH-SLEIGHT in the presence of the various partners.
A French Tech day, conferences, and public events on October 3
including in particular:
- a plenary conference and a roundtable focused on training programmes related to industry (Lycée Mimard, IUT, UJM, École des Mines, École Centrale, ENISE).
- The afternoon is dedicated to a meeting with startups and SMEs that have chosen the path of industrial innovation.
