Mines Saint-Étienne recently opened a free solidarity grocery store for students. It offers basic organic food products and hygiene products for students in need.
With rising inflation, it is becoming increasingly difficult for students to meet their food needs. In response to this, the School has decided to open an organic solidarity grocery store. Designed for students, it offers basic products such as rice, pasta, canned goods, and hygiene products… They can be served free of charge, with a limited number of items, to ensure that every student in need can benefit. It is also a meeting place for students, where they can gather and discuss cooking, and much more!
The “Off Course(s)” solidarity grocery store is run by two volunteers, including a staff member and a student. It is located on the School’s premises and opens for one hour at the beginning of each week.
The School is very pleased to see that this initiative has been highly appreciated by students, who have attended in large numbers in recent weeks.

This project is the result of a working group led by the Diversity Mission. Actions have already been implemented by the School to combat student precariousness (free sanitary products, psychological support, healthcare services…).
