A new recognition of the internationalization of our research activities following last month’s inclusion in the prestigious Times Higher Education World University Ranking: the THE “by subject” ranking places the School in the Top 250 for the “Engineering & Technology” field.

Following the announcement of the prestigious Times Higher Education World University Ranking (THE) on September 12, the Times Higher Education 2019 world university ranking “by subject for “Engineering & Technology” has just been published.
It uses the same performance indicators as the global university ranking, with a refined methodology for different fields.

Mines Saint-Étienne is ranked 201-250: 7th French institution and 5th engineering school, 2nd institution outside Île de France, and 1st in the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes and South Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur regions.

This “by subject” ranking highlights universities at the forefront of engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, mechanical and aerospace engineering, civil engineering, and chemical engineering.

The School’s strengths in this ranking are its international outlook and the impact of its research: it ranks 1st among French institutions for citations of its publications.

This is a new recognition of the School’s research work, the result of efforts by all staff members, who are once again thanked for their commitment to these areas.
