The first conference-event of the Georges Friedel laboratory took place on June 16th.
Titled “Technological Myths and Social Realities of Artificial Intelligence,” this event welcomed a distinguished guest: François Pellegrini, Professor of Computer Science at the University of Bordeaux. He co-directs the “Source Codes and Software” college of the Committee for Open Science at the Ministry of Higher Education and Research and chairs Cluster NAOS, an association that promotes innovation and entrepreneurship through open economic models in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region.
Organized by the Georges Friedel laboratory, but covering a broad theme, the conference-event gathered around a hundred people. The day began with a seminar on artificial intelligence, set up through the Fayol Institute.
For the rest of the programme, the laboratory’s research professors presented their work on the theme of the role of software in open science. They were thus able to benefit from François Pellegrini’s expertise during the Q session that concluded the day.
This conference-event of the Georges Friedel laboratory aims to become an annual event that highlights themes likely to interest all staff members of the laboratory and Mines Saint-Etienne. We look forward to seeing many of you next year!
