#Stress corrosion – CEFRACOR thematic day
The Physical Mechanics and Interfaces department (SMS center) participated on November 12 in the CEFRACOR workshop on the theme “Mechanical Tests Dedicated to Hydrogen Embrittlement of Metallic Materials”.
This thematic day, co-organized by Mines Saint-Étienne, aimed in particular to improve knowledge on the use of various mechanical tests dedicated to characterizing the susceptibility of materials to hydrogen embrittlement. It brought together 45 participants at the Mines ParisTech premises. The presentations will soon be available on the Cefracor website.

HDR Defense
Fabrice Lamadie, a researcher at CEA Marcoule, successfully defended his Habilitation to Direct Research on November 7 at Mines Saint-Étienne on the theme “Contribution of optical diagnostics to the study and modeling of multiphase processes.” This visit is part of a long-standing scientific collaboration in image analysis with the SPIN center (Johan Debayle) and thesis co-supervision.
SCS Cluster expertise and #IoT development
On November 26 and 27, the GC Provence campus is hosting the steering committee of the European “Cyber secure light” project: this project involves partner competitiveness clusters (including the Secured Communicating Solutions cluster) in initiating and funding IoT projects for SMEs on a European scale through calls for projects.
This will be an opportunity to present and promote various technological components of the Campus: the Micropacks R&D platform, the cybersecurity hub, and the TEAM@Mines Saint-Étienne maturation space.
