Every year, the Capgemini Consulting/BDE Saint-Étienne partnership allows ICM students to participate in the student associations competition by supporting one or more projects they are passionate about. The “School Brass Band” and “OpenMin’ded” projects are the winners of the 2016 edition.

More than 20 projects in the running this year underwent an initial selection process based on applications by the Capgemini jury (*), which focuses primarily on the project’s realism and the commitment of the students proposing it (challenges, objectives, stages, risks, budget, etc.).
The selected projects, which had to address the theme “Reinventing daily life” (and innovating where routine tends to set in…), were then the subject of a dynamic, creative, and professional presentation.

All the students involved presented and defended their projects on November 17 at the Maison des Élèves. Following the deliberations, the jury awarded two prizes:

1,000 euros for “A brass band with instruments”: led by Thomas Solanas and the members of the band. Traditionally, it enlivens most of the ME’s associative activities and several school events. The band welcomed many motivated musicians this year but lacks instruments (notably brass and percussion). “The purchase of musical instruments is a long-term investment. They are intended to remain at the ME for many years. The few instruments currently available were purchased about 10 years ago and are in good condition because they are well-maintained.”

500 euros for “OpenMind’ed”: welcoming international students”
The project led by Jérôme Mouret for the School’s new international students extends the reception and support system set up by the international relations team.
Beyond the organization of cultural, sporting, and artistic activities in which he is involved, the goal is to offer a new framework for exchange and sharing for these students by organizing a weekend in the mountains in January.

Congratulations to the engineering students for their involvement in student life and the life of the school.
