Three startups supported by TEAM@Mines Saint-Étienne were part of the IMT delegation at CES Las Vegas from January 8 to 11, 2019, including Opti’Waves, winner of the 2nd IMT-Bercy Innovation Grand Prize: a remarkable recognition of expertise that is revolutionizing the manufacturing of ceramic dental prostheses. The startup will present its furnace at the largest dental medicine and dental technology trade show in Cologne next March.

Opti’waves develops and markets a microwave ceramic sintering technology that is ten times faster than those currently available on the market for the production of dental prostheses. It has just received the 2nd IMT-Bercy Grand Prize and a grant of €40,000 that will be dedicated to the development of the microwave furnace.

“The culmination of expertise developed over ten years in the Mines Saint-Étienne laboratories on microwave ceramic firing.”

“This prestigious award is a true accelerator that provides us with national and international visibility. It enables us to optimally prepare the presentation of our furnace at the IDS trade show in Cologne next March”

The IDS trade show is one of the largest dental trade shows in the world with more than 155,000 dental professionals.

Opti’Waves is a young company created last April: Sébastien Saunier, CEO, founder and researcher-lecturer at Mines Saint-Étienne, Mathieu Dutto, research engineer and Rodolphe Macaigne research engineer. A strategic committee has been created, composed of several members including Ludovic Marcelius who traveled to CES with R.Macaigne.

Incubated within TEAM@Mines Saint-Étienne, accelerated by LeVillagebyCA Loire Haute-Loire, Novacité and Pingstar, it is supported by the local ecosystem including Saint-Étienne Métropole, BPI France, Réseau Entreprendre Loire and the Easytech programme.

The IMT delegation in Las Vegas
