The school was pleased to host a panel discussion on the theme “Digital Cartography and Big Data” in the presence of Michel Bussi, novelist, professor of geography, and patron of the 33rd edition of the Saint-Étienne Book Festival. The event was opened by Gaël Perdriau, Mayor of Saint-Étienne, President of Saint-Étienne Métropole.
Geolocation, data massification, dematerialization, decision support—the panel discussion led to a very open exchange between science and society.
with the participation of Mihaela Juganaru-Mathieu, Senior Lecturer in Computer Science, Fayol Institute, head of the Big Data pedagogical challenge; Virginie Raynaud in charge of the Digital City project of Saint-Étienne (urban development division) and Thierry Joliveau, Professor at Jean Monnet University (geography and geomatics).
