Two research projects led by the Environmental and Organizational Engineering Department are starting this month. They are part of the theme “Diversity management and mass customization” (#industry of the future) led by the Henri Fayol Institute.
A closer look at the programme of the 32nd Entretiens Jacques Cartier (November 4 to 6 in Montreal) and the joint organization of seminars.

Collaborative project with West Virginia University

The SUSTAIN project “Steering variety and complexity in operations management towards sustainability”, submitted in response to the Thomas Jefferson Fund call for proposals from the Face Foundation, has been accepted.
This is an important support scheme for innovative projects and Franco-American research collaborations, and it is excellent news!
Lasting two years, it is being carried out with West Virginia University and will take different forms of collaboration, some of which have already been initiated between the two partners (special sessions at international conferences, CIRP meetings, joint papers in progress…).
This collaborative project is led by Khaled Medini, Henri Fayol Institute, UMR 6158 LIMOS.

“International Ambition Pack” from the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region

As part of the call for projects for support for international university and scientific cooperation 2019, Mines Saint-Étienne has obtained a grant of €36,000 over 2 years for the project led by Khaled Medini in collaboration with the University of Bremen in Germany.
Entitled “Managing diversity and complexity in the era of Industry 4.0“, it also falls within the theme “Diversity management and mass customization” (#industry of the future) led by the Environmental and Organizational Engineering Department.
This grant will facilitate the development of the academic collaboration initiated last year.

Programme of the 32nd Entretiens Jacques Cartier 2019

The Henri Fayol Institute will organize a seminar on The contribution of the circular economy to addressing the challenges of industrial and ecological transition“. Through field experiments and testimonials, the project aims to present practical applications and highlight the barriers and levers related to these transitions.
This project, developed in collaboration with EM Lyon and ETS Montréal, has been selected to be part of the programme of the 32nd Entretiens Jacques Cartier (Franco-Quebec programme); it will take place on November 6 at ETS Montréal.

“Best practices and challenges in open innovation ecosystems: collaborative research in medical technologies and their integration”. This symposium, organized on November 4 at CHU Sainte-Justine in the Health and Life Sciences session, will provide an opportunity to discuss and explore new collaborations “to accelerate the implementation of medical technologies in clinical practice, better support the cross-development of R&D in medtech, and contribute to improving the healthcare system for the benefit of the population.”
With the participation of Vincent Augusto, Centre for Biomedical and Healthcare Engineering, a partner of the symposium. He will present work carried out as part of the Avenir Santé Chair, aimed at assessing the impact of new healthcare technologies such as telemedicine.
