Nearly 40 students from Jean Monnet University, the School of Art and Design, and Mines Saint-Étienne worked from October 1 to 5 on scientific and digital mediation in connection with the upcoming Rotonde exhibition “Approche(s)”. The final presentations took the form of short videos covering 10 research themes.
From nanoparticles to philosophy, from sensors to cognitive development, from electronics to sociology, students of the Master of Science in Engineering in Prospective Design (M1 and M2 cohorts) reflected on and worked with the scientific themes that will be addressed in the exhibition “Approche(s), la science en partage”.
The objective: to produce augmented and digital content based on the exhibition texts and the visual creations they imagined to illustrate them.
This step allowed the 10 teams to engage with the research themes: the students were supervised by Jenny Faucheu, SMS center, head of the Master of Science in Engineering program, Julie Fortin, La Rotonde, project manager and curator of the Approche(s) exhibition, and Baptiste Menu, PhD student at SMS center/Institut Fayol.
The final presentations took the form of 2- to 3-minute popularized video spots; very lively and educational productions.
These videos will soon be available on La Rotonde’s website as well as in the upcoming Approche(s) exhibition, a co-production by Mines Saint-Étienne / Concordia University / Université du Québec / Université de Montréal, which will be displayed on the gates of 158 during the fall.
