“Mental Health: know, understand, support”

The INNOV’ACTIONS hackathon is back! And this year, 90 participants (3rd-year ISMIN students and Master of Science in Engineering 2 students in Innovation Management, Digital Innovations, and Digital Strategies from Aix-Marseille University) experienced collaborative innovation for 3 days!

The theme “Mental Health: know, understand, support” prompted students to develop a collaborative innovation project and to test a real-scale collective intelligence experiment.

They were supported by professionals from the business world, mentors, and experts, to present the most accomplished project possible to the jury. The 15 teams worked hard, and 3 stood out:

  • 1st place was awarded to SLOHW, which addressed the mental health issue of “employees in addiction” by designing a connected watch with a sweat sensor allowing young active individuals to measure their alcohol consumption and associated risky behaviors, then support them in treating their addiction.
  • 2nd place was awarded to IGLOW, which addressed the mental health issue of “anxious and isolated minors” by creating an application to identify signs of distress in high school students, particularly by fostering an understanding of their emotions and facilitating their referral to appropriate support.
  • 3rd place was awarded to PSYMULATEUR, which addressed the mental health issue of “healthcare professionals in psychological distress” by designing an immersive training device combining a VR headset and mentorship with experienced professionals to help psychiatric nurses gain perspective on their practices and enhance patient care.

Congratulations to the Innov’actions winners!

We also thank the Aix-Marseille Metropolis for its historical support of this initiative, the support of the Master of Science in Engineering 2 Innovation Management from the FEG of Aix-Marseille University, ST Microelectronics for the prototyping equipment, our service providers Thomas Gabelle and Marie-Aude Hémard for the impressively smooth organization and management of these 3 days, the DF and infra & DSI teams for their valuable logistical support, as well as COMIF & Les Terrasses de Maxime who provided catering during the event!
