The new IT’M Factory technology platform was successfully inaugurated on June 14 in the presence of numerous guests, institutional representatives, companies, and project partners who discovered the physical and virtual digital factory, developed as part of the Mines Saint-Etienne Tech programme. Various educational scenarios prepared by the Henri Fayol Institute teams punctuated this event.

Pascal Ray, Director of Mines Saint-Étienne, and Vincent Nourrisson, President of UIMM Loire, opened the ceremony, led by Frédéric Grimaud, responsible for the operational implementation of this outstanding project.

This physical and virtual digital factory, the result of a close partnership between Mines Saint-Étienne and UIMM Loire, is supported by companies such as Bosch, Siemens, Boa Concept and positioned within the factory of the future project also involving Cetim and ENISE.
It is dedicated to SMEs and mid-sized companies in Loire to help them digitize all or part of their production facilities. It also aims to better train students in new technologies.
Its implementation required an investment of nearly €1M and the work of three full-time equivalents for one year. It will be operational in September 2018.

IT’M Factory offers a comprehensive process that brings together an automated line dedicated to digital transformation in one location. This platform dedicated to enterprise digitization provides a digital simulator of operational processes for companies.
Flow management, data science, artificial intelligence, business plans, environmental impact—the expertise of the Fayol Institute teams is brought together in this space.

The event and associated day were a success

More than 200 visitors discovered this new space equipped with cutting-edge tools (digital lean, virtual and augmented reality, 3D printing, collaborative robot, AI, cybersecurity, Big Data…), with visits organized as part of the GoFab Factory of the Future event held at the convention center.
12 educational scenarios were offered on 4 themes by the partners.
