With the Ambassadors programme, Institut Mines-Télécom and the Mines-Télécom Foundation are committed to facilitating young women’s access to scientific studies and careers. Each year, Mines Saint-Étienne therefore has volunteer ambassadors who join this adventure—both enriching and educational—to promote equal opportunities.
In France, engineering schools have fewer than one third female students. To address this, IMT and its Foundation created the IMT Ambassadors programme, intended for students and PhD candidates.
In practical terms, the Ambassadors can receive training, take action in the field and even build a professional network through:
- a training and awareness-raising programme;
- meetings with middle and high school girls from across France;
- two immersive weekends to train, exchange and find inspiration alongside engineer mentors and committed experts.
The Ambassadors also benefit from mentoring by employees from the corporate sponsors of the Mines-Télécom Foundation (BNP Paribas, Orange, Dassault Systèmes, RATP Group Foundation, Bouygues Group, MBDA).
Applications are open for the 2026–2027 academic year!
The IMT Ambassadors programme offers 30 places to students from Institut Mines-Télécom schools for the 2026–2027 academic year. The objective remains the same: to break stereotypes and inspire vocations.
No need for a perfect track record: the programme is primarily aimed at those—women and men—who want to drive change and share their experience.
Last year, seven Mines Saint-Étienne students contributed to this project, which echoes the school’s commitments to inclusion and societal transformation.
