Great performance by the AREM team at the 2018 French Robotics Cup
ISMIN students who are members of AREM, the Mines robotics and electronics association, designed two robots this year to compete in the French Robotics Cup, which took place from May 9th to May 12th in La Roche-sur-Yon.
The team ranked 70th in the competition (out of nearly 200 teams present). This strong ranking for a first-time participation bodes very well for the association’s future activities and upcoming competitions.

A 4th place finish at the 2018 Cartel des Mines for the Mines Saint-Étienne delegation!
A student delegation from Mines Saint-Étienne was naturally present at the 2018 Cartel des Mines, which took place this year in Douai from May 3rd to 6th: Nearly 180 ICM and ISMIN engineering students took part in the many sporting events offered and reached 4th place, just off the podium, with great individual and collective performances (Football, Handball, Basketball, Rugby, Volleyball, Athletics relay, Swimming relay, Cross-country, Ergo, Cheerleading, DJ contest).
Congratulations to all students, and see you in Albi in 2019 for the 46th edition of the Cartel.
“Science under pressure” at the GC Provence Campus!
The science outreach association, Illumines, and the robotics association, AREM, invite you to an event evening “Science under pressure” on Thursday, May 31st from 5:30 PM at the campus Student House. This event, free and open to all, allows the general public interested in science to discover some of the school’s association projects through educational workshops.
The programme specifically includes the evolution of communication methods over time and the presentation of the robots that participated in the French Robotics Cup.
