As part of the Civil Engineering programme at Mines, an awareness day on disabilities is offered to staff and students on Thursday, May 24, 2018, at the 158 cours Fauriel campus. This year’s objective is to discuss the concepts of independence and autonomy through multiple examples and types of disability.
Morning programme in lecture hall F1 from 9:00 AM
- Opening conference on the concepts of autonomy and independence by Cécile Dupré, Envie Autonomie
- Conference by the Simon de Cyrène association, presented by Bertrand Delaunay
- Conference by Jérôme Elbrycht, gold medallist in monoski cross at the 2016 X Games
- Lunch (Executive Hall) prepared and served by ESAT Ondaine
Innovative activities and workshops in the afternoon from 1:15 PM
- Experience the cognitive and emotional aspects of blindness through spatialised sound, thanks to virtual reality – UniVRstudio
- Try out four para-sport disciplines: wheelchair basketball, boccia, sound-guided rifle shooting, and pendulum darts – Loire Departmental Handisport Committee
- Understand vision problems through the Vis ma vue game – Réseau Canopé
- Interact with guide dogs for the blind – Lyon Centre-Est School
- Learn more about the initiatives of SAT Hors les murs – Trisomie 21 Loire
- Discuss in depth the occupational therapist profession, as well as activities related to accessibility to assistive technologies – Envie Autonomie
- Discover the competition equipment of athlete Jérôme Elbrycht
in rooms E1.10–E1.11, G1.05–G1.06, and in the main courtyard.

For the sixth consecutive year, Companieros training programmes have been rolled out in social learning (SPOC) across many universities and engineering and management schools. Companies engage with students, who discover the corporate world in a different way—more specifically, its commitment to integrating disability in the workplace—through the organisation of webinars.
