2,000 engineering students participated in the Forum Perspectives 2018 organized in Lyon by two student teams from Mines Saint-Étienne and Centrale Lyon: a day of privileged encounters with over 110 companies in attendance, as well as workshops, booths, coaching sessions, CV reviews, round tables, and conferences.
The meeting point for future engineers also included the School’s booth, paired with that of Mines-Saint-Étienne Alumni, hosted by ICM graduates and teams from the Directorate of Education and the Directorate of Research and Innovation. Post-forum debriefing:
15 companies were received for appointments at our booth (personalized discussions on potential partnerships), with the programme covering various opportunities to engage with our students, ongoing projects, internships and first positions, as well as career-focused presentations, not to mention participation in the professional grand oral at the end of the engineering programme.
The Mines Saint-Étienne teams also conducted a comprehensive tour of the companies present, particularly to present the School’s offerings and the tools available to support companies.
ICM alumni received students from Mines and Centrale for CV and cover letter reviews, career advice, and guidance toward specific companies at the forum offering entry-level positions.
Thematic conferences by companies on specific professions or professional challenges (supply chain, consulting, change management, etc.) or on challenges in cutting-edge fields (electric aircraft) also generated significant student interest and enabled numerous targeted exchanges.
Ultimately, an excellent participation rate among students from all three years of the ICM programme: first-year students for a survey on the degree’s identity, second- and third-year students for internship or first-position opportunities with on-site interviews with companies in a dedicated space; companies satisfied with attendance and the volume of CVs collected.

A highly successful 2018 edition of Forum Perspectives!
Congratulations to the engineering students of Mines Saint-Étienne and Centrale Lyon for this once again highly professional organization, and see you next year!
